Course Description

This training is targeted towards supervisors and coordinators to help them support their team with the transition from face-to-face home visits to virtual home visits.  The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way many organizations and agencies must operate in order to follow public health guidelines.  Due to social/physical distancing recommendations and other restrictions, many home visiting programs are unable to visit families in their homes and have been challenged with finding other ways to reach families and continue to provide support and services during this time.  This training will examine the various opportunities and challenges of providing virtual home visiting services. Course Objectives: 

  • Describe the methods and opportunities available for virtual home visiting
  • Recognize the challenges and barriers to effective virtual visits
  • Understand the importance of being flexible and creative in virtual service delivery
  • Develop skills for providing professional and effective virtual home visits

As the Instructional Design and Technology Specialist/Application Systems Analyst, Sr for the Arkansas Home Visiting Network Training Institute Mona develops technology-based instructional and informational materials and interventions applying adult learning principles. In addition to producing online content, Mona also manages the LMS, Thinkific, for our learners as well as provide reporting for continuing education credits. Other duties include website maintenance, graphic design, virtual training producing, and event planning.
