This training discusses the advantages of family planning for the mother, baby and the entire family, as well as tips on how home visitors can approach and discuss the topic. (MOD2009) (Mar 2016)

Course Objectives: 

Upon completion of this module, home visitors will be able to discuss the importance of family planning including the following key concepts and topics:
  • Birth spacing
  • Birth control
  • Impact of unintended pregnancies
  • Family planning resources
  • Reproductive Life Plans
  • Preconception health
  • Elective births, and
  • The importance of including fathers in family planning discussions

As the Instructional Design and Technology Specialist/Application Systems Analyst, Sr for the Arkansas Home Visiting Network Training Institute Mona develops technology-based instructional and informational materials and interventions applying adult learning principles. In addition to producing online content, Mona also manages the LMS, Thinkific, for our learners as well as provide reporting for continuing education credits.
