Course Description

In this class, you will learn the skills needed to improve relationships and interactions with families whose culture differs from your own. (MOD201) (June 2015/TR 6.2019)

Course Objectives: 

  • Define key terminology
  • Reflect on and document personal observations and plans regarding cross-cultural competency as a home visitor
  • Document a plan for gathering information regarding a family’s values and beliefs
  • Identify key concepts regarding cross-cultural competency
  • Recognize interactions that reflect cultural sensitivity and understanding

As the Instructional Design and Technology Specialist/Application Systems Analyst, Sr for the Arkansas Home Visiting Network Training Institute Mona develops technology-based instructional and informational materials and interventions applying adult learning principles. In addition to producing online content, Mona also manages the LMS, Thinkific, for our learners as well as provide reporting for continuing education credits. Other duties include website maintenance, graphic design, virtual training producing, and event planning.
